Project Details:

This project expanded the existing Choctaw Nation Judicial Center in Durant, Oklahoma. It included an additional District Courtroom with a twelve-seat jury box, a deliberation room with restroom, two conference rooms, and visitor seating. The existing secure corridor was extended, adding two additional inmate holding rooms, inmate restrooms, meeting rooms, and secure vestibule entry into the new courtroom. This secure corridor also connects via man trap to a new Sallyport. Other project scope included adding a judge’s office with supporting open office space, a security office, bailiffs office, probation office, and additional restrooms. One of the existing courtrooms was expanded to include a jury box, deliberation room with restroom, and additional storage. Finishes were chosen to coordinate with the existing building. Because of the nature of this program, security and safety were major focuses during design.
