A Maceo Smith New Tech High School consisted of:
Renovation
The renovation included:
The existing High School Building was selected to converted to a New Tech High School.
The New Tech System requires a flexible system where students can move about the building and work in teams.
The existing building needed to be modified to allow transparency from classroom to corridor and classroom to classroom. So, lots of windows were added along the corridors.
The Team Learning also was encourage by the development of Collaboration Areas in the corridors and Two business Centers
Science Labs were upgrades.
The Library was converted to a Media Center and an Open Entrance Portal was created to Encourage a free flow from corridor to the Media Center.
The main entry was modified to blend in with the Collaboration Areas Concept.
