Relevant Project Features
Skyline high school consisted of 600,000 SF of renovated area and 46,000 SF addition. The project included the creation of collaborative areas, renovation of the competition gymnasium with locker rooms and weight rooms, and expansion of the existing cafeteria. Other renovations of the existing facility included replacing 7 boilers, doors throughout campus, grease traps, roof over the library and boiler room, cooling tower, playground, approximately forty restrooms, and repairing exterior spalling concrete and general painting of corridors.
General scope and concept was to:
34,000 square feet with a seating capacity of 2,000 spectators.
Building consists of lobby, gymnasium, locker rooms and weight room.
The Gymnasium is configured for 1 competition basketball, 1 competition volleyball, 2 practice basketball and 4 practice volleyball courts. Additionally, the space is equipped with operable motorized bleachers, drop down divider curtains, and wrestling mat hoist.
Locker Rooms house two men’s locker area, three women’s locker area, a referee’s room and two coaches’ offices. The locker rooms have access to the weight room as well as the gym.
The Weight Room is a 3,200 square foot room setup for free weights, weight machines and aerobic training.
12,000 square feet with 7 serving lines and 1 grab and go line.
The new addition and existing combine and wrap around a courtyard are that will be used for expansion of the cafeteria for exterior dining.
The exterior dining will be out fitted with built-in tables and umbrellas, and concrete pavers.
Plant materials are all design to utilize low water usage and the usage of Texas native plants.
